MORENO VALLEY: Suit to oust Councilman Yxstian Gutierrez moves forward

A lawsuit seeking to remove Moreno Valley Councilman Yxstian Gutierrez from office will go forward, a Riverside County Superior Court judge ruled Thursday, May 22.

Judge David Gregory rejected an objection from Gutierrez’s attorney stating that the suit was flawed because it did not include Moreno Valley and the City Council members that appointed him in September as defendants.

Gregory said the complaint against Gutierrez was all that was needed to challenge his appointment.
